Inside the UC System: Admissions, PIQs & What Counselors Need to Know

This advanced counselor session will provide a deeper exploration of the University of California system as a distinctive and interconnected higher education ecosystem. Led by UC Outreach and Admissions experts, the session will unpack the structure, strengths, and philosophy of the UC campuses, while offering practical guidance on the UC application process and holistic review approach. A significant focus will be placed on the Personal Insight Questions (PIQs), including what makes responses compelling, common pitfalls students encounter, and how counselors can more effectively guide students toward authentic and contextually strong applications.
